Two men compete in a ping pong tournament on Sunday in Chinatown.

Two men try to paddle their way to victory Sunday in the Chinatown Ping Pong Tournament during Sunday Streets.

The community event returned to Chinatown for the first time since The City launched the program in 2008, and included the second annual tourney in Portsmouth Square. Sunday Streets closes down roadways to allow people to get outside and stretch their arms and legs. Sunday’s event was the eighth of 10 planned this year.

The last two will be in the Western Addition on Sept. 9 and the Outer Mission district on Oct. 21.
