PG&E has restored power to all but 23 customers after an underground equipment failure knocked out power to more than 1,600 PG&E customers in San Francisco’s Richmond District this morning, a utility spokesman said.
The remaining customers are expected to have their power back by about noon today, PG&E spokesman Joe Molica said.
The outage continues to affect the area north of Anza Street and west of 26th Avenue, Molica said. It was reported at about 8:45 a.m. in the area of Geary Boulevard and 30th Avenue and initially affected 1,625 customers.
Crews are still trying to determine the exact cause of the outage, but Molica said it appears a splice failed.
