A handful of demonstrators showed up for a protest at BART's Embarcadero station in San Francisco Monday evening, a BART spokesman said.

BART officials estimate about eight protesters arrived for the protest, which was scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. at the Embarcadero station as well as Oakland's 12th Street station, according to the Twitter feed #OpBART -- a feed used by activists to plan past protests at BART stations.

BART spokesman Jim Allison said police were aware of the protest and no injuries or train delays were reported.

"We were following reports on the Internet from this morning," he said.

This evening's protest was planned in response to the transit agency's actions that allegedly blocked Oakland protestors from entering stations on Oct. 26 following an "Occupy Oakland" demonstration, according to #OpBART.
