A man was struck by a taxi in front of the old Virgin Records building in downtown San Francisco Wednesday afternoon, according to fire officials and a horrified witness.
Emergency crews were called to bustling Market and Stockton streets at 1:41 p.m., San Francisco fire spokeswoman Lt. Mindy Talmadge said.
A witness said she heard a “thud” that sounded like a car striking a car, but when she turned she saw that a man had been struck by a cab and was seriously injured.
The victim appears to be Asian and in his early 20s, the witness said. His condition was not immediately known.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
