Fatal motorcycle crash blocking 3 lanes of Highway 101 in San Francisco

A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a vehicle on U.S. Highway 101 in San Francisco on Tuesday afternoon, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

The motorcycle rear-ended a vehicle while traveling northbound on Highway 101, just north of the Vermont Street exit in San Francisco at around 2:45 p.m., CHP Officer Kevin Bartlett said.

The CHP are not releasing the name of the motorcyclist to the public at this time, Bartlett said.

The three left lanes of northbound Highway 101 are closed to traffic as emergency crews respond, Bartlett said.
