A woman suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash near San Francisco’s Broadway Tunnel on Thursday evening, police said.
The crash was reported at about 7:20 p.m. near the intersection of Broadway and Powell Street.
The 56-year-old woman was driving a vehicle east in the tunnel when the car’s front left tire came loose, according to police.
The woman lost control of the vehicle, which struck two parked cars just outside of the tunnel, police said.
The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for serious internal injuries. No one else was injured in the crash, according to police.
