Across San Francisco and the Bay Area, people gathered to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks and to remember those who lost their lives that day.

Commemorations include San Francisco Fire Department memorial services at each of The City's 43 fire stations and the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb -- a noncompetitive memorial climb up and down the Transamerica Building.

Sept. 11, 2001, was also remembered at both the San Francisco 49ers and Giants games Sunday.
