Buster Posey, the injured San Francisco Giants catcher, is the father of twins, according to the team.

Kristen Posey had the twins, named Lee Dempsey and Addison Lyn, on Sunday, the San Francisco Giants announced.

Posey has been out for the season after a collision at home plate injured his leg.

As for the timing of the birth, it does come close to nine months after the Giants captured their World Series title.
