A funeral service will be held Friday for the two firefighters killed in Thursday’s blaze in the Diamond Heights neighborhood, according to the Fire Department.

Lt. Vincent “Vinnie” Perez, 48, died Thursday and firefighter-paramedic Anthony “Tony” Valerio, 53, died Saturday due to injuries from the fire.

Friday’s service will be held at Saint Mary’s Cathedral at 1111 Gough St., a Fire Department lieutenant said. A time has not been set.

The details are still being worked out, but the turnout is expected to be large, according to the lieutenant, who asked not to be named.

“There are companies coming from all over the country,” the lieutenant said.
