Family and friends are grieving the death of 38-year-old Gregory Weiss, who inexplicably crashed his bicycle into a street median in Forest Hills last week.
The San Franciscan died from his injuries in the hospital three days after the apparent accident on June 6, according to the San Francisco Medical Examiner’s Office.
He was cycling southbound on Pacheco Street around 12:15 a.m. when he struck the center median, crashing his bicycle, on the approach to Dewey Boulevard, police said.
He was transported with critical injuries to San Francisco General Hospital.
Police said they don’t know what caused Weiss to crash. Distraught loved ones are hoping more details about the incident will come to light.
The family set up a memorial page in honor of Weiss. A memorial service is scheduled for Sunday, the website said.
