A head-on collision near Fort Funston sent a mother and her young child to the hospital Wednesday afternoon.

Details on the crash were limited, but San Francisco Police said one vehicle crossed the median of Skyline Boulevard at Fort Funston Road and slammed into another vehicle head-on. The incident occurred around 1:20 p.m.

Three people were taken to San Francisco General Hospital, including a mother and her young child. The child was reportedly in a car seat. The conditions of all three people are unknown.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
