A body was discovered Tuesday afternoon near the Maritime National Historic Park, according to National Park Service officials.
Howard Levitt, spokesman for the parks service, said the call came in to the parks service that a body had been found at lower Fort Mason, near the fire house, around 4:45 p.m.
No further details, including a description of the body, were available.
The Maritime National park is located within Fort Mason, on the north end of The City.
