Be careful of the closed streets and gun shots on some Russian Hill neighborhood streets Monday afternoon.
But do not worry, it is not really police activity, instead its all part of the filming of a new TV series called “Alcatraz.”
The film company warned neighbors last week that Filbert Street, between Hyde and Leavenworth will be closed for filming of a scene in the television pilot.
Filming will occur from noon to 7 p.m., but the street will be closed from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Scenes will be taking place in the street that will include simulated gunfire of three or four shots as police officers drive up to a house and are shot as they exit their car.
“Alcatraz” is expected to air on Fox in the fall and will star Canadian Actor Ian Tracey, according the TV series blog site. The show is created by JJ Abrams.
The mystery TV series is one of four productions expected to film in San Francisco. To increase the film industry’s presence, the San Francisco Film Commission revamped its incentives to lure big productions earlier this year.
