The cold weather that has enshrouded the Bay Area for the past week is going away, but a bout of rain will have to be endured first.

Temperatures in the region will be warmer by the end of the week, according to the National Weather Service. By the weekend, San Francisco will reach 60 degrees during the day under partly cloudy skies.

First, though, rain will hit The City. Beginning today, a small storm will bring a 60 percent chance of rain. It is only expected to rain, though, through Wednesday.

Skies will continue to clear as the weekend approaches.

Throughout the week, temperatures will remain in the mid-50s and increase each day of the week. Overnight lows will dip in to the mid-40s today and Wednesday, and increase to 49 degrees Friday.
