A bicyclist was injured Sunday morning when he was hit by a vehicle in San Francisco's Mission District, police said.

Officers responded to a report of a vehicle that crashed into a bicycle at the intersection of Duboce and Mission streets at around 9:45 a.m., San Francisco police Sgt. Michael Andraychak said.

A 30-year-old woman from San Francisco was driving a Toyota sedan through the intersection when she struck a 24-year-old man on a bike, Andraychak said.

The victim was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive his injuries.

A preliminary investigation revealed the bicyclist entered the intersection against a red light, according to police.

The driver of the Toyota stopped after the crash and cooperated with police.

Drugs or alcohol were not believed to be a factor in the crash.
