Low cloud layer delays flights at SFO

Flights arriving and departing Wednesday from San Francisco International Airport are slightly delayed due to a “low ceiling” of clouds, SFO duty manager Joseph Walsh said.

“The biggest impact is on the arrivals,” Walsh said. “You can’t land as many planes at the same time.”

Delays to arriving flights are about 15-20 minutes.

The delays began Wednesday morning and are expected to continue until about 2 p.m., depending on the weather, Walsh said.

Travelers are advised to check with their airlines for information on specific flights.
