Liquor store fight ends in arrest

An argument inside a liquor store south of Bernal Heights early Wednesday escalated when a 41-year-old man struck someone over the head with metal wire.

Saleh Saeed, of San Francisco, was at the store at Mission and Bosworth streets around 1:21 a.m. when a 40-year-old man walked in and asked him for alcohol, Officer Grace Gatpandan said.

The man then reportedly agitated Saeed while in the store. When he walked outside, Saeed allegedly followed and hit him.

Police responded and arrested Saeed on suspicion of aggravated assault with a weapon.

Surveillance footage showed the verbal encounter inside the store but police were not able to get a statement from the victim because of his injuries, Gatpandan said.

He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.
