Kerr says NCAA shouldn’t pay players, but should allow them to make money

OAKLAND — Amid a scandal and FBI investigation roiling college basketball, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr weighed in on the issue before Saturday night’s showdown with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

As Kerr sees it, reform is long overdue and an Olympics-style model should be on the table.

“I don’t think the NCAA needs to pay the athletes,” Kerr said. “But I think what the NCAA needs to do is allow the athletes to make some money, if they’re able to do so, off the floor.”
