OAKALND — With Stephen Curry’s near-month long absence set to conclude, his head coach Steve Kerr believes the two-time MVP had done everything in his power to prepare for his reentry into the lineup.

“He looks great, but he hasn’t played in a NBA basketball game, which is totally different than guarding Willie Green in a 3-on-3 scrimmage — nothing against Willie,” Kerr joked before Saturday night’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies.

“Willie’s a great friend and a hell of a coach, but he’s no longer playing in the NBA,” Kerr continued. “So, tough to judge Steph’s conditioning on that matchup but I think he’s done everything possible to get himself ready for tonight but there’s no substitute for game action.”
