Kathleen Dooley, a florist and owner of Columbine Design Floral Company, was re-appointed unanimously Tuesday by the Board of Supervisors to a term on the Small Business Commission that ends Jan. 6, 2022.

Dooley had some influential backing when her appointment first cleared the Board of Supervisors Rules Committee last week, with former Mayor Art Agnos speaking in favor of her re-appointment.

Supervisor Malia Cohen had supported a different appointment in Cheresse Bernice Benton, a woman of color who owns a cannabis delivery service, during the committee hearing.

However, the committee voted to re-appoint Dooley in a 2-1 vote, with supervisors Norman Yee and Ahsha Safai supporting Dooley and Supervisor Catherine Stefani supporting Benton.
