Jonathan Rhys-Meyers was hospitalized following what was reported to be a suicide attempt. On Tuesday night, paramedics responding to an emergency call reportedly found the “Tudors” star slumped on the floor of his London home. When he refused treatment for more than a half-hour, they called police, who brought him to the hospital.
The actor — who has been in rehab five times while battling alcohol addiction — is said to have taken an overdose of pills.
“He did relapse, but he did not try to commit suicide,” a source told People magazine. “He was taken to the hospital and then released.”
When asked how he was doing after his release, Jonathan had no comment for the U.K.’s Sun.
A rep for Scotland Yard relayed to People, “We can confirm we were called by the London Ambulance Service to an address in NW8 to report to a man refusing treatment. Police attended, and the man was taken by ambulance to a central London hospital. That was the end of our involvement.”
Let’s hope Jonathan is able to deal with his demons — soon.
Bam Margera was devastated by pal Ryan Dunn’s death — but evidently the tragic news wasn’t exactly unexpected. The “Viva La Bam” star revealed to E! that years before Ryan’s fatal crash with passenger Zachary Hartwell, the “Jackass” buddies survived a harrowing auto incident on that very same stretch of Pennsylvania highway.
“He flipped me in a car eight times at the same exact spot in 1996,” Bam told “E! News.” “Thank God I had my seat belt on, because [fellow “Jackass” player] Chris Raab put one on me, but my brother didn’t have one on. He flew 40 feet. Thank God he’s alive. But, like, Dunn was always a maniac at driving.”
Bam also shared Ryan’s final text message to him hours before the fateful moment when the Porsche sped over a guardrail at more than 100 mph, hitting a tree and bursting into flames:
“Stopping for a beer, be there when I can.”
And though the prankster raged at Roger Ebert for tweeting after Ryan’s death, “Friends don’t let jackasses drink and drive,” Bam said he would have tried to take away his pal’s keys if given the chance — but doesn’t think Ryan, whose blood alcohol level was found to be twice the legal limit, would have let him.
“He was my best [expletive] friend in the world. It’s been five days now and I can’t stop crying, man,” Bam said. “I just don’t think it should’ve been him.”
Hours after being officially released from home confinement Wednesday, Lindsay Lohan was already back on the club scene — and sparking rumors that she was drinking. When paparazzi mobbed her on her way out of Hollywood’s Lexington Social House around 2 a.m., LiLo tripped and almost fell — leading to speculation she was soused.
But according to Radar Online, the newly liberated starlet was knocking back what appeared to be sodas, served by her assistant. A source said she seemed “like she was having fun and just out with her friends for a relaxing evening.”
Doesn’t sound very relaxing.
