It’s no surprise to hear Jason Aldean is taking a bit of time off.

The country star who was onstage during Sunday’s mass shooting in Las Vegas has canceled his upcoming shows “out of respect for the victims, their families and our fans,” he announced Tuesday.

He won’t be making appearances slated for Los Angeles Friday, San Diego Saturday and Anaheim Sunday, but is scheduled to play Oct. 12 in Oklahoma.

“It has been an emotional time for everyone involved this week, so we plan to take some time to mourn the ones we have lost and be close with our family and friends,” Aldean said in a statement, adding, “I hope everyone understands why we can’t play this weekend and I’m sorry if anyone is disappointed.”

A “heartbroken” Jennifer Lopez, who has a residency at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, also is postponing three shows.

TMZ reported that other Sin City shows, including The Blue Man Group, Penn & Teller, David Copperfield, Wayne Newton, Eddie Griffin, Piff the Magic Dragon and Chippendales returned to action Tuesday after canceling performances Monday in the wake of the massacre.

Celine Dion’s show at Caesar’s Palace is continuing, but Cirque du Soleil’s “Michael Jackson One” — which is at Mandalay Bay (where gunman Stephen Paddock unleashed the terror) — will be dark until Friday, according to ticket availability on the website.

FUN WITH LOCAL LANDMARKS

Although some were skeptical at the prospect of Pier 39, The City’s waterfront mall is celebrating its 39th birthday today; seniors around town may remember Oct. 4, 1978, when Dianne Feinstein, then president of the board of supervisors, cut the opening-day ribbon wearing an old-fashioned Sutro Baths swimsuit (an agreement she apparently made with developer Warren Simmons if the attraction opened on time).

Marking the anniversary today, CEO Taylor Safford promises in a press release, “We are committed to making this one-of-kind destination better in the years to come.”

On Oct. 13, a “reverse” happy hour from 8 to 11 a.m. offers drink discounts, and from 5 to 10 p.m. on Oct. 14, a “glow-in-the-dark” party on the pier will include live music and fireworks over the bay. Other special activities are planned for the upcoming 39 weeks.

Meanwhile, The City’s Italian and Italian-American community invite folks to the 149th San Francisco Italian Heritage Parade, which starts at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at Jefferson and Stockton streets and ends in Washington Square (with a Ferrari display); grand marshals are actress Jacqueline Toboni, heroic San Francisco police officer Kevin Downs and Italian Consul General Lorenzo Ortona.

Finally, EPIC Steak announced a new $13 cocktail inspired by Warriors MVP Steph Curry: The Curry #30 includes rum, lime juice, grapefruit juice and house-made garam masala syrup.
