This NFL offseason, it’s hard to differentiate between the Cleveland Browns and the 49ers: Both have new coaches after having respectively dreadful 2015 seasons, are in the market for quarterbacks and have a top-10 pick in the upcoming draft.
Hue Jackson, the former Raiders coach who has reportedly had interest in trading for Colin Kaepernick, gave his opinion on a number of playcallers who will be available to him whether in free agency or through the draft.
He said of Cal’s Jared Goff: “Big guy, quick release, tremendous poise in pocket, can keep eyes downfield with guys bearing down.”
His comments weren’t illuminating, though, as he also praised Carson Wentz and Robert Griffin III.
