Homeless man arrested on suspicion of beating, robbing woman in Tenderloin

A transient is alleged to have beat a 60-year-old woman causing bruising and head bleeding during a robbery in the Tenderloin late Tuesday, police said.

Charles Dennis Greer, 56, was arrested around 8:10 p.m. in connection with the robbery near Hyde and Ellis streets.

The woman was taken to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment.

Greer is alleged to have stolen cash from the woman’s pockets after attacking her. He was arrested without incident.
