Commuters who use their own vehicles were likely counting their lucky stars after BART protests wreaked havoc on public transit riders leaving San Francisco on Monday night. Unfortunately, a fire near Cesar Chavez Street and southbound U.S. Highway 101 changed that rosy outlook.

A blaze that originated in a homeless encampment near an off-ramp led to the closure of two right lanes of southbound 101 near Cesar Chavez Street around 6:15 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

All lanes have been reopened to traffic, according to the CHP.
