Why she does it: Beeger’s family legacy at Sequoia dates back to 1938, when Audrey’s mother-in-law, research bacteriologist Dove Beeger, spearheaded the drive to develop a community hospital. Sequoia Hospital opened its doors in 1950. “I have made lots of nice friends at Sequoia over the years,” Beeger said. “There is such a family feeling at the hospital. I enjoy helping and giving back. My daughter, Barbara, has been a Sequoia nurse for 20 years.”

The impact: “Audrey has been a wonderful volunteer for so many years of service,” Sequoia Hospital President Glenna Vaskelis said. “She continues selflessly giving back to the patients and the community, honoring the family name that is responsible for Sequoia existing.”
