Congressmen who voted for Obamacare are now fewer by 45, as they lost primaries, runs for the Senate, were lost by Democrats to Republicans number 45 according to our tally. Here’s the list:

  8. Ellsworth (Retired, lost Senate bid) X
  9. Etheridge

  13. Hall (N.Y.)
  14. Halvorson
  15. Hare
  16. Hill
  17. Hodes (Retired, lost Senate bid) X
  18. Kagen
  19. Kanjorski
  20. Kilpatrick (Lost primary)
  21. Kilroy
  22. Kirkpatrick (AZ)
  23. Klein (FL)
  24. Kosmas
  25. Markey (CO)
  26. Meek (FL) (Retired, Lost Senate bid)
  27. Mitchell

Note that both Meek’s and Kilpatrick’s seats were retained by Democrats.

These are still pending, but would bring the tally up to 53 if they should lose:

  6. Maffei
  7. Giffords
  8. Costa

Also, there were 16 Obamacare supporters who came from districts that had voted for McCain in 2008. Twelve of these seats have flipped to Republicans:

  2. Ellsworth
  3. Hill
  4. Kirkpatrick (AZ)
  5. Mitchell
  6. Mollohan
  7. Perriello
  8. Pomeroy
  9. Salazar
  10. Snyder
  11. Spratt
  12. Wilson

On the other hand, John Murtha’s seat was maintained, and both Rahall and Space’s seats were safe.
