Fleeing hit-and-run suspect arrested in the Tenderloin

A teenage male who fled police after a hit-and-run was arrested Monday evening in the Tenderloin, according to police.

The 16-year-old boy hit a car and injured a 28-year-old female inside it around 4:50 p.m. near Turk and Polk streets before fleeing. Police then began a pursuit, and the suspect struck at least one vehicle that was occupied as well as a number of other parked cars.

Finally, the suspect abandoned his vehicle and ran. But police caught up with him, and he was arrested.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to recover.
