Thought you'd heard the last of Batkid, the charming leukemia survivor whose Make-A-Wish dream turned San Francisco into Gotham in November?

Not according to Los Altos filmmaker Dana Nachman. On Tuesday, she helped launch an Indiegogo campaign seeking $100,000 to fund “Batkid Begins,” which will delve into the life and impact of Batkid, aka Miles Scott of Tulelake. Batkid was cheered on by more than 10,000 people Nov. 15 as he rescued a damsel and saved Giants mascot Lou Seal before receiving a key to the city from a grateful Mayor Ed Lee. Millions — including President Barack Obama — watched it unfold online. Nachman told The San Francisco Examiner the campaign will fund things like animation of Miles' fight with leukemia, “to make it much more like a superhero movie.”

She was awed by the outpouring of support for the 5-year-old. She credited “a lot of people who were able to mesh their passions for play and for work.”

She cited San Francisco resident Eric Johnston, who played Batman at the event. He was supposed to relay information to Batkid via smartphone, but that just didn't seem cool enough.

“He said, 'I'll invent something to project them because that's what Batman would have done,'” she said.

Johnson crafted a device, only to see a major part break just before Batkid's big day. He reached out to the Texas company that manufactured the part. It rushed out a replacement.

“I think that Miles allowed all of us to be children for a day,” Nachman said.

The campaign had raised $5,500 as of Tuesday evening.

DeGeneres, De Rossi in crisis?

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi might have a new film project coming out, but it wouldn't be pretty.

InTouch magazine says de Rossi, 41, has been filming DeGeneres, 56, during their fights.

“Portia secretly taped some of their arguments,” a source told the magazine. “She was drunk. Then she threatened to expose Ellen as controlling and manipulating.”

Rumors about trouble in the marriage flared last month when news surfaced that de Rossi had checked into a Malibu rehab facility in May.
