The man shot and killed on Monday near a school in the Bayview District has been identified as a San Francisco resident, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office.
A gunman fatally wounded 26-year-old Jevon Cael at around 11:11 a.m. on Oakdale Avenue between Mendell and Lane streets, where the Leola M. Harvard Early Education School is located.
The shooting marked the second homicide San Francisco experienced in just a matter of days after more than a month without a killing in The City.
On Saturday, an unidentified person was found dead at a home in the Mission District.
Police arrested Lisa Gonzales, 47, on suspicion of murder in that case. Prosecutors are expected to decide whether to charge Gonzales Tuesday.
Police have yet to arrest a suspect in the Bayview shooting. The suspect is described only as a man in his 20s.
Cael is the 15th homicide victim of the year in San Francisco.
