The first single, “What You Want,” is all freedom, she says. And on the rest of the album, “the music and lyrics have gone more aggressive than they ever have before — we are so excited to release this thing.”
Who’s doing the talking?
Merely one Goth-rock goddess named Amy Lee, raving about her band Evanescence and their new third outing, titled simply “Evanescence.” And there’s one ethereal track, “Lost In Paradise,” that she promises to be “the most intimate song on the album.”
The Grammy-winning Lee and company, it appears, are back after 20 million records sold to reclaim their spectral Queen of the Damned crown.
The full album will street Oct. 11. But “What You Want” is available today via iTunes, and at all other digital retailers on Sept. 16.
The 12 songs were tracked in Nashville sessions with producer Nick Raskulinecz, of Foo Fighters renown. Additionally, Evanescence will be hitting the road on a tour that kicks off — you guessed it — right here in the Bay Area, on Oct. 10 at Oakland’s posh Fox Theatre.
