After two successful projects ("Mr. and Mrs. Smith" and Shiloh Nouvell), Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are working together again.
Pitt is producing a movie based on the life of Daniel Pearl, the Wall Street Journal reporter who was kidnapped and murdered in Pakistan in 2002. Jolie has signed on to play Mariane Pearl, who wrote the book — "A Mighty Heart: The Brave Life and Death of My Husband Danny Pearl" — on which the film is based.
"I am delighted that Angelina Jolie will be playing my role in the adaptation of my book," Pearl told The Associated Press. "I deeply admire her work and what she is committed to."
The film will be directed by Michael Winterbottom, who recently helmed the documentary "The Road to Guantanamo".
Here’s the best part: Pitt is producing the movie through his Plan B production company, which he started with his ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston. Pitt and Aniston bought the rights to the book with the idea that the former "Friends" star would play Mariane. But, when the couple divorced, Aniston handed over her share of Plan B, thus clearing the way for Pitt to give the role to his baby mama.
Brad Pitt? More like Bad Pitt
Don’t feel sorry for Aniston, though. Some of her blabby buddies are saying that Pitt, while burning hot on the screen, was a dud in the sack and that Aniston is happier with new boyfriend Vince Vaughn.
"Hands down, Vince is the best lover Jen says she’s ever had," an insider told New Weekly magazine. "She giggles, saying how great he is, in and out of the bedroom."
Another so-called friend of Aniston said the actress is sooooo over Pitt.
"Contrary to what a lot of people think, Jen really has moved on from Brad," the pal said.
Wolverine is gettin’ soft
Hugh Jackman is singing the praises of the KidUrban nuptials.
Jackman not only attended Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s wedding last month in Sydney, he also sang Peter Allen’s song "Tenterfield Sadler" during the ceremony.
"They really seem like a fantastic couple. Next to my own of course, probably the most romantic and beautiful wedding I’ve ever been to," Jackman said, according to Ananova.com.
Jackman went on to say that Kidman looked stunning, which should surprise absolutely no one.
"She just looked like a princess. She looked amazing," Jackman said. "What I noticed was just how happy she was. I mean, she’s obviously so genuinely thrilled and obviously madly in love."
Carter brothers play family feud
Nick and Aaron Carter got into a brawl Monday night, the day before the brothers went before the media at the Television Critics Association press junket to promote their new E! reality show "House of Carters."
Nick, 26, and Aaron, 18, explained the fight away as a "brothers will be brothers" kind of thing, but their fisticuffs left Aaron with a bruise on his forehead.
"Aaron jumped me and I jumped him back," Nick said, according to People mag.
Luckily, the entire smackdown was captured on film. In fact, a cameraman broke up the fight.
How much for that deadbeat in the window?
Think it would be cool to have a worthless, no-talent hack at your party? Well, for $20,000, you can get Kevin Federline to attend.
According to In Touch Weekly, K-Fed has made more than $700,000 in four months for this new Rent-A-Wannabe-Rapper business, and his wife, "singer" Britney Spears, is, like, totally happy that Federline is earning his own money and stuff.
Some of the other ways Federline is earning some cash include endorsing Blue Martin clothing line ($250,000) and shilling for Virgin Mobile cell phones ($25,000). Thanks to his newfound dough, Federline actually took his wife out to dinner and (gasp!) paid for it.
