Aussie billionaire Clive Palmer has commissioned a replica of the Titanic to be built in China. Its maiden voyage is expected to leave Southampton, England and end up in New York sometime in 2016.

Would you pay a million dollars to ride on a replica of the Titanic? This time they promise to avoid icebergs, but you will definitely be forced to watch about 2,000 dorky couples take a picture of themselves on the bow, DiCaprio-Winslet style. So which is worse?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the doppelganger of the fated vessel is being built by an Aussie billionaire Clive Palmer in China and will take its maiden voyage from Southampton, England, to New York in 2016.

The ship is supposedly going to look exactly the same, save a few safety upgrades, which means enough lifeboats for people who make under $50,000 a year.

Some folks want a ticket so bad that they are willing to pay upward of a million bucks.

Hmmm, an exact replica being built in a country known for its lax quality-control oversight ... what an unsinkable idea!
