Instagram unveiled a new user agreement that infuriated celebs who were worried that their pictures would become the property of the app. “Facebook, aka weird kid brother who steals all our s***, get out of our Instagram! You ruined the party. I hate you,” tweeted actress Olivia Wilde.
Meanwhile, Pink tweeted, “I will be quitting Instagram today. What a bummer. You should all read their new rules.” Anderson Cooper, Cheryl Burke and even Mia Farrow all talked of deletion as well. As these things usually go, now Instagram is saying that the policy is being misunderstood and it never intended for users’ photos to be sold to advertisers without permission. It promises to clean up the misleading sentences and clarify the language.
Whatever. Something new will come along to replace Instagram any day now, anyway.
