Amanda Bynes was officially charged with DUI following an embarrassing April arrest after she allegedly sideswiped a cop car. And rather than letting the courts do their work, she immediately appealed her case to — get this — the president of the United States.

“Hey @BarackObama ... I don’t drink,” the former teen star tweeted. “Please fire the cop who arrested me. I also don’t hit and run. The end.”

Unfortunately, Amanda, this isn’t the end by any means. The charges carry a minimum sentence of 48 hours … and a maximum of six months.

Taking It ‘Slow’

We can relax … kind of: Crystal Harris and Hugh Hefner aren’t planning another wedding. At least, not yet.

“Hef and Crystal are taking it slowly this time,” a source told Radar Online.

The Playboy mogul was dumped by his “runaway bride” just days before their wedding a year ago.

“They’re just getting back to their old groove together,” the source says, “and so far they haven’t talked about marriage or a wedding.”

Well, what has it been, like, a week?!

Distant Exes

Jenny McCarthy says her ex-boyfriend Jim Carrey has cut off all ties with her autistic son, Evan — who had a close relationship with the funnyman during his five-year relationship with Jenny.

“I’ve tried to ask [Jim] numerous times [to see Evan], because my son still asks,” the comedienne told Howard Stern, as Us reports.

“I think you can love people from a distance and respect him,” Jenny opined. “But as a mother, you just hope when you have a relationship with someone, it has nothing to do with the child when you break up.”

True enough. But if you’re going to love and respect someone from a distance, maybe you shouldn’t talk about them in public?
