‘This Old Bag’ preview: Health and community advocates gathered last week at the Fairmont Hotel to take a peek at celebrity and designer handbags that will be auctioned at the sixth annual “This Old Bag: The Power of the Purse” benefit for the Breast Cancer Emergency Fund on Oct. 15. Hilary Newsom Callan and Elizabeth Thieriot hosted the Aug. 17 preview party. Kaiser Permanente is the presenting sponsor of the upcoming auction.

Chic fashion show raises funds   

Chic Fashion Week fundraiser: On Aug. 7, San Francisco attorney Waukeen McCoy opened his home at the Historic Four Galleries Estate for a fashion show created by Charleston Pierce and Mario B Productions. The event was a benefit for the Until There’s A Cure Foundation, which raises funds and awareness for HIV/AIDS prevention and education.
