Commonwealth Club Distinguished Citizen Award Dinner: At its 23rd annual event Tuesday at the Palace Hotel, the Commonwealth Club of California presented its Distinguished Citizen Awards to the Honorable Tad Taube, the president of the Koret Foundation; Mary B. Cranston, a senior partner at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP; and Janet Lamkin, the president of Bank of America California. Among those in attendance were leaders representing the arts, academia, business, philanthropy and politics.
MOMA hosts top patrons at exclusive dinner
25th annual Directors’ Circle Dinner: The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art recognized major donors at an invitation-only dinner Wednesday. Guest speakers were Craig Dykers and Kjetil Thorsen, principals of Snohetta, the Norwegian architecture firm that is the museum’s building-expansion partner.

Sorokko Gallery reopens with de Borchgrave works
Serge Sorokko Gallery reopening: On Thursday, the gallery — purveyors of contemporary art in The City since 1984 — opened its new Union Square location. Art collectors and community leaders were on hand to celebrate the space, along with an exhibit of paintings and sculptures by Belgian artist Isabelle de Borchgrave.
