LaToya Jackson says in an explosive interview that she believes her brother Michael was murdered. The singer told the U.K.’s Daily Mail that a cabal of handlers exploited the King of Pop, plying him with drugs and pushing him to perform beyond the limits of his frail physical state.
“I believe Michael was murdered, I felt that from the start,” a tearful La Toya declared to the paper. “Not just one person was involved, rather it was a conspiracy of people.”
Speculating that Michael was railroaded into committing to a grueling schedule of 50 concerts in London, she added, “He was surrounded by a bad circle. Michael was a very meek, quiet, loving person. People took advantage of that.”
Chillingly, La Toya recalled, “Less than a month ago, I said I thought Michael was going to die before the London shows because he was surrounded by people who didn’t have his best interests at heart.” Eerily prescient words.
Custody Agreement?
Meanwhile, another British paper is reporting that Debbie Rowe, the biological mother of Michael Jackson’s elder two children, has reached a secret custody agreement with the late icon’s mother — to keep his father away from the kids.
According to the U.K.’s Daily Mirror, lawyers for the two women met secretly. The outcome: Debbie agreed to drop her bid for custody — and receive visitation rights — if Joe Jackson, who Michael claimed had abused him, was not part of their lives.
“The last thing she wanted was for those kids to be looked after by Joe and go through what Michael went through,” a source close to Debbie’s lawyer reportedly confided.
We can’t help but hope this turns out to be true. It sounds like it might be the best solution for the kids and everyone concerned.
Brangelina Take NYC?
Are Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt looking to put down roots in NYC? The A-list acting couple has been scoping out a landmark building on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, the New York Daily News reports. The 100-year-old Althorp is being converted into condos, and the Jolie-Pitts — who have been renting pads in NYC and Long Island while Angie shoots “Salt” — may be looking to buy a unit.
“I heard they’re ready to spend as much as $25 million,” a source told the paper.
But don’t expect any stargazing opportunities: The press-magnet celebs are said to be interested in the location in large part for the privacy it affords.
“The gated courtyard means they can get in and out of their car without being hassled by paparazzi,” the source explained.
That’s what telephoto lenses are for! We kid, we kid.
Gisele: Baby Bump
Is Gisele Bundchen starting to show? The supermodel hasn’t confirmed widespread reports that she is pregnant with new hubby Tom Brady’s baby. But she was snapped leaving a Malibu eatery after lunch on July 10, wearing the telltale “flowy top” the tabloids consider smoking-gun evidence that a female star is expecting. And, we have to admit, a hint of “baby bump” appeared to be visible under the fabric.
Hey, look, the woman just got married. Maybe she’s just letting herself go? Nah … somehow we don’t see that happening.
