Breathe a sigh of relief: The long, increasingly depressing story of Jon and Kate Gosselin is about to come to an end — maybe.

As the series finale aired Monday night, reports surfaced that the two had agreed to divorce and custody terms in a meeting with an arbitrator, and they could see their marriage formally severed by the end of the year.

“This was the proceeding that essentially ended their marriage,” a source told People magazine of the session. “Kate is just relieved that a very painful chapter of her life is nearly over, and she is looking forward to building a better, brighter future for herself and her kids.”

Without much help from Jon, it seems: Despite professing his love for his eight children, the newly minted man about town “didn’t dispute Kate having primary custody of the kids,” the source said.

As for the dozen red roses the (former) reality TV star brought his (former) wife? She refused them.

“In what should have been their most serious moment as a couple, Jon again resorted to a publicity stunt,” the source said.

Well, it’s what he does.

Broadway revival?

New-er, old-couple alert. Though they insist that the proximity of their Broadway gigs simply rekindled their friendship and nothing more, Sienna Miller and Jude Law are looking pretty cozy.

The former lovebirds, who famously split a few years back after revelations that Jude cheated with his children’s nanny, have been spending time together now that both are starring on the Great White Way. And onlookers are whispering that it appears to be something more than platonic.

A source told the New York Daily News that on Thursday night “they came in [to nightclub the Box] together and got a table with a few friends around 1 a.m. At one point, Jude ordered shots for the two of them, and he was egging her on to take one. They were laughing a lot and whispering to each other; it looked like they were genuinely having a good time.”

Jude “had a ton of people coming up to say hi to him, many of them female, but he really only seemed interested in Sienna,” the source said.

The “Cold Mountain” star even led his ex-flame by the hand through the crowd.

“It looked like he wanted people to see that they were together,” the source said.

After spotting Jude and Sienna leaving together around 3:30 a.m., the source said, “They certainly looked like more than just friends.”

We’re pretty sure we know how this story ends.

J. Lo brought low

Jennifer Lopez played it cool with Ryan Seacrest when discussing the embarrassing blunder in her American Music Awards choreography — a fall on her much-lauded rear end. But as the rumor mill has it, she was “ready to kill” following the mess up.

After falling on her butt during what was hyped as her comeback performance, the actress-singer acted unfazed. “Did I trip a little bit? I don’t even remember,” she told the radio host, before changing her tune: “I meant to do that! You should know me better than that. That was part of the choreography!”

Jenny from the Block even offered some Zen wisdom: “The measure of things is not what happens when you fall, it’s how you handle [it] when you fall.”

Well, according to Fox News, J. Lo didn’t handle it all that well. The diva is said to have been furious about the incident and to have ordered that it be censored from the delayed broadcast of the awards show on the West Coast.

“She walked off the stage absolutely fuming,” a source told Pop Tarts. “She was so upset and ready to kill. Jennifer was a perfectionist about that performance and practiced hard.”

Hey, if you’re a 40-year-old mom of two, it’s pretty impressive to be up there on that stage shaking your booty in the first place. We never thought we’d say this: Go easy on yourself, J. Lo.

‘Twilight’ stars sneak off together

Wondering where Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were during the after party for the “New Moon” premiere? Stoking romance rumors, the presumed couple were having their own private party at another NYC club.

“It was just the two of them and a bodyguard, who was keeping people away,” a snitch told Page Six. “They left at 3 a.m.”

Sounds ... platonic.
