SAN FRANCISCO — On Thursday, Vanessa Getty and Samantha Traina hosted a party for the unveiling of the redesigned store on Maiden Lane. The 7,900-square-foot, three-story building was renovated under the direction of New York architect Peter Marino. Designer offerings include ready-to-wear, handbags, costume jewelry, shoes, watches and fragrances.

2009 Gala Soire: The Museum of the African Diaspora on Nov. 13 opened “The Art of Richard Mayhew,” featuring landscapes by the acclaimed Santa Cruz painter, with a reception and tour followed by a dinner at the St. Regis Hotel. Also honored were Lloyd Dean, president and CEO of Catholic Healthcare West; Kenneth P. McNeely, president of AT&T California; Frankie Jacobs Gillette, founding MoAD board member; and Frederick E. Jordan, CEO of F.E. Jordan & Associates.

Palace Hotel and KCBS Radio 100-year anniversary gala: The classic San Francisco hotel — with its historic landmark Garden Court — was the setting for a party Nov. 13 that also honored the radio station’s legacy as the world’s first broadcasting station.
