SAN FRANCISCO — Today’s artwork chosen by Basak Notz.

AGE: 33

OCCUPATION: Owner/designer, Small Square Design (www.smallsquaredesign.com)

NEIGHBORHOOD: Potrero Hill

THE PIECE OF ART I LOVE: “City Views” by Wayne Thiebaud (2004)

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS PIECE? I love Thiebaud’s nonexistent city street connection depictions, his sense of perspective and colors.

HOW DID YOU DISCOVER IT? I used to walk this route to the dog park by Mission Creek every day with my dog, Buddy, and was happily surprised to see this three-piece, large-scale artwork installed for public viewing inside the institute building when the construction was finished.

WHAT DO YOU MOST LIKE ABOUT IT? That an original Thiebaud — one of my favorite artists — is so close to my home to enjoy anytime.
