Thanking an alum for the music

Conservatory of Music honors Gordon Getty: On June 23, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music hosted its annual gala in honor of alumnus Gordon Getty’s generous support of the institution. The evening began with a cocktail reception in the conservatory’s atrium followed by music. As a tribute to Getty, who was in attendance along with singing greats, the program included pieces composed by Getty. The evening concluded with a dinner in the grand tent.

 
A gathering of the arts

Joyner Leadership Lunchon: On June 22, Fred Giuffrida and Pamela Joyner teamed up wth White House Social Secretary Desiree Rogers to throw a special luncehon recognizing leadership in the arts. Attendees included actress and San Francisco first lady Jennifer Siebel Newsom, award-winning thespian Rita Moreno and San Francisco dancer/choreographer Alonzo King.
