Elderly man struck by car, seriously injured

An elderly man suffered life-threatening injuries when a vehicle struck him in San Francisco on Friday morning, police said Monday.

The collision was reported at about 11:45 a.m. at Mission Street and Geneva Avenue.

The 83-year-old pedestrian was taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries, and an update on his condition was not immediately available from police.

The 71-year-old man driving the vehicle that struck the pedestrian stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators. No arrest has been made in the case, police said.
