U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan will hold a “Twitter Town Hall” Wednesday morning, giving ordinary people the chance to ask questions about federal education policy.

In recent months, Duncan’s top priority has been pushing for reform of No Child Left Behind, the 2002 federal law that requires high-stakes testing to ensure schools are making what the law terms “adequate yearly progress.” No Child Left Behind was due for reauthorization in 2007, and Duncan has said that in the face of Congress’s failure to rewrite it, he will grant waivers to states that will exempt them from some of the law’s requirements.

Twitter users can send Duncan questions on the topic of “Education and the Economy” ahead of time by using the hashtag #AskArne. Duncan’s brief replies will be broadcast live at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/education-department from 10:30 to 11 a.m.
