Less than an inch of rain fell across the San Francisco Bay Area since Thursday morning and dry weather is forecast for much of the weekend, National Weather Service officials said Friday.

Since about 8 a.m. Thursday most of the Bay Area saw rain but some areas received no rain at all.

Higher elevations got the most with upwards of two-thirds of an inch in some places, such as Mt. Hamilton near San Jose and Cobb Mountain in the North Bay.

Southern Marin County and San Francisco received not a drop while Oakland got less than one-tenth of an inch, according to weather officials. Much of the Bay Area received less than a tenth of an inch.

Forecasters expect light rain over the North Bay Friday, which is expected to end by Friday evening.

Dry and seasonable weather is expected on Saturday. Sunday clouds will move in ahead of a chance for light rain late Sunday into Monday in the North Bay.

Weather officials said Tuesday will be dry with another chance of rain on Wednesday.
