Suspects are in custody after a Daly City motorcycle officer was injured during a police pursuit in San Francisco on Sunday afternoon, according to authorities.

The chase unfolded in the area of Interstate 280 and Alemany Boulevard. Daly City police spokesperson Sgt. Ron Harrison said the motorcycle officer was taken to San Francisco General Hospital in stable condition after the incident.

SFPD spokesperson Officer Grace Gatpandan said police detained multiple suspects related to the chase just south of Interstate 280 at Bowdoin and Sweeny streets in Portola.

A damaged sedan could be seen wedged between police vehicles on Alemany Boulevard above the Interstate 280 around 1:30 p.m.

It’s unclear why police were chasing the suspects.

The Department of Emergency Management asked the public on Twitter to avoid northbound and southbound Interstate 280 near Alemany Boulevard.
