OAKLAND — After Stephen Curry was spotted getting a workout in at the Warriors’ downtown Oakland training facility on Monday morning, head coach Steve Kerr was asked about the sidelined superstar and whether his recovery from a sprained right ankle is progressing faster than expected.

“I didn’t ask like, “Is he a day ahead of schedule or anything like that?’ He’s just coming along well,” Kerr said during his pregame press conference. “Everything’s gone smoothly.”

Draymond and Zaza out, while McCaw returns

With the Blazers at Oracle, the Warriors will have to make do without Draymond Green who’s dealing with right shoulder soreness and Zaza Pachulia who’s missed three of the last four with left shoulder soreness.

“It’s been bothering him enough to keep him from playing tonight,” Kerr said of Green, who was a last-minute scratch. “It’s been bothering him the last few days and it’s still aggravated, so we won’t play him tonight.”

The decision to rest the pair of starters is part of the club’s approach to 2017 at large.

“We’ve approached this season kind of with the idea kind of that if a guy’s banged up, he’s not going to play,” Kerr said. “We’re just trying to manage the whole season — no matter whether we’re on the road or at home.”

Patrick McCaw, who missed the final two games of the trip with a nose contusion and a concussion, is good to go.
