Courtney Love issues cease-and-desist letters over Cobain doc

‘Soaked in Bleach,” a semi-documentary about Kurt Cobain, has only been out for a few days, but it’s already made a big enemy: Mrs. Cobain herself.

Courtney Love’s legal team sent a cease-and-desist letter this week to theaters showing the film, according to Deadline.com. “Soaked in Bleach,” which combines interviews and “America’s Most Wanted”-style re-enactments, focuses on private eye Tom Grant’s claims that Love was involved in Cobain’s death.

“The Film falsely presents a widely and repeatedly debunked conspiracy theory that accuses Ms. Cobain of orchestrating the death of her husband Kurt Cobain,” the cease-and-desist notice says.

Grant, who says Love hired him to find Cobain days before the Nirvana singer’s suicide was discovered on April 8, 1994, supplied filmmakers with recordings of his phone conversations with Love that are heavily featured in the film.

MELISSA RIVERS TAKES ‘FASHION’ GIG

Melissa Rivers is taking her late mother’s place as co-host of “Fashion Police” starting Aug. 31.

The E! channel said Wednesday that Rivers will join fellow hosts Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski when the celebrity fashion critique series returns this summer. Rivers will continue to serve as executive producer.

E! executive Jeff Olde said original producer Rivers helped create the show’s blend of fashion and comedy.

Rivers’ mother, comedian Joan Rivers, died in September at 81 after complications from minor throat surgery. Kathy Griffin joined “Fashion Police” as co-host earlier this year but left after seven episodes.
