Couple threatened, robbed by teens during lunchtime park visit

A couple’s afternoon park visit was cut short in Pacific Heights on Friday after they became the targets of two teenage robbers.

At approximately 12:15 p.m., the 22-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man were sitting on a bench at Alta Plaza Park near the intersection of Pierce and Clay streets when two teens armed with a metal pipe approached them, demanding their property.

The suspects, whom police describe as a 17-year-old boy and another boy estimated to be between 13 and 15, also claimed to be armed with a handgun.

The victims complied, handing over a purse and some cash, and the suspects fled into a vehicle that was last seen driving south on Pierce Street.
