BART passengers dealt with major delays Friday due to a temporary computer outage in the transit agency’s operations control center, a spokesman said.
The outage occurred at 10:10 a.m. and caused train delays of up to 45 minutes, spokesman Linton Johnson said. Trains had to be temporarily halted or slowed due to safety reasons, he said.
The computer system was restored about 30 minutes later and BART was expected to be back on schedule around 11:30 a.m., Johnson said.
The cause of the outage was under investigation, Johnson said.
